  14. NOTE--This demonstration version of Spellswell 7 won’t let you add words to the dictionary.  With the REAL Spellswell 7, you can add words to or delete words from the dictionary.

  16. This demo is provided with a 60,000-word dictionary to make it smaller for downloading.  When you purchase Spellswell it comes with a 93,000-word dictionary.  Even larger dictionaries, as well as specialized legal, medical, geographical, science and business dictionaries are available.

  19. To use the Spellswell 7 Demonstration version with Eudora:
  20.  
  21. Eudora Pro or 2.x owners - use Add Word Service from your Edit menu to add Spellswell 7 to the Edit Menu.  Then open or write a memo and check its spelling.

If you have an old version of Spellswell 7 installed first move it from the folder it is in, then "invoke" it from Eudora.  Eudora will bring up an error message when it can't find it, and will ask if you want to Leave or Remove Spellswell from the menu.  Remove it.  This allows you to add the new version without confusion.

  26. WordPerfect, ClarisWorks, BBEdit, Info Depot and other Word Service supporting product owners please check your instruction manual.  We also keep an updated set of instructions for various programs on our web page, so check there, too.

Technical Information: The Word Services Suite is a public, standard protocol, endorsed by Apple and developed by Working Software.  The Word Services Suite defines the standard language that Macintosh applications will use to communicate with one another for functions involving text.  This communication ability allows any Macintosh application to use spelling checkers, envelope addressers, grammar checkers, hyphenators, Greek translators, and other utilities that operate on text as if they are built directly into the application itself.
